At Classrooms Without Walls, we started with a simple idThe Winds of Change (WoC) Leadership Youth Group Program, initiated in May 2022 by Canadian and Ukrainian educators, arose from a profound recognition of the importance of instilling leadership skills in Ukrainian children, akin to those experienced in North American Student Councils. Over the initial months, WoC focused on nurturing fundamental skills such as communication, organization, collaboration, and conducting Needs Analysis. Integral to the program were opportunities for students to present reports on topics of their choice, fostering both autonomy and expression.
Since mid-2023, the WoC family has expanded to encompass students from Myanmar and Afghanistan, embodying a spirit of unity and support. Currently engaged in three dynamic projects—writing a book, launching a YouTube channel, and producing a Podcast titled "Over the Globe"—these young leaders exemplify resilience and creativity. Notably, the Podcast serves as a platform for interviewing children living in exile, amplifying their voices and experiences.
The remarkable endeavors of these young students underscore a powerful truth: when provided with opportunities and encouragement, youth possess the drive and commitment to effect meaningful change. WoC stands as a testament to the transformative potential of youth leadership, transcending borders and empowering voices across the globe.

On March 12th, 2022, CWW's founder, David Falconer, ignited the inaugural session of T4U from his post as Principal in Qikiqtarjuak, Nunavut, nestled beyond the Arctic circle. Against the backdrop of the majestic Canadian Arctic, over 300 Ukrainian children eagerly absorbed the rich tapestry of knowledge woven by Falconer.

The inaugural session of the Teachers For Afghanistan (T4A) Program commenced on March 4th, 2023, to address the lack of education for girls and women. The genesis of this initiative within CWW stemmed from the alarming statistic revealing that 80% of school-aged Afghan girls, encompassing 2.5 million individuals, are deprived of educational opportunities. Shockingly, nearly 30% of girls in Afghanistan have never even stepped foot into primary education.
Responding to the urgent need for action, the T4A program materialized into reality, driven by the impassioned calls for international teacher volunteers. Presently, T4A offers a diverse array of courses, ranging from GED and ESL to high school and university-level subjects. Beyond traditional academics, the program extends its reach to encompass holistic development by offering courses in Yoga, life skills, and conversational English.
However, the journey towards education is fraught with challenges, particularly for Afghan females. Recognizing the risks associated with accessing education, T4A has implemented stringent guidelines safeguarding the identities and residential privacy of its students. Despite the necessity for anonymity, the vibrancy of the learning experience is preserved through the animated participation of students.
In a time when Afghanistan finds itself increasingly isolated from the global community, the imperative to deliver education to its present and future generations of female leaders has never been more pronounced. T4A stands as a beacon of hope, championing the cause of education amidst adversity and paving the way for a brighter future for Afghan females. Our team is made up of passionate educators who are dedicated to helping students succeed.
